Commercial chain link and enclosures in Yakima
Business fence has a harder life than a backyard run: trucks, asphalt, long spans and gates that open all day. It gets built for that.
Chapter 01
A business fence is working all day
A residential fence mostly stands there. A commercial one gets hit by delivery trucks, opened and closed all day, and asked to hide, secure or contain something without looking like an afterthought. Posts that go into asphalt need different handling than posts that go into a lawn. A run of several hundred feet has to hold its line over distance, and a drive gate has to carry real weight every time it opens.
Then there is the look. A dumpster corner, a storage yard or a parking lot is often the first thing a customer sees of a business. A chain link run with sagging fabric or a bent top rail tells them something before anyone says a word, and it is easy to underestimate how much that costs a small business owner who is trying to look established.
Dustin Owen at MF Fencing has been licensed in Washington since 2021, under L&I licence MFFENFL804RS, and he is insured and bonded. Commercial jobs get the same site visit and straight bid as a backyard fence.

How a commercial run gets built
Dustin comes out first and looks at how the property actually works: where trucks turn, which way a gate needs to open, what has to be hidden and what has to stay visible. From there the layout is posts first. Line posts, corner posts and gate posts are set so the fabric can be stretched tight and held with tension bands, and the top rail runs true along the whole length.
The garbage enclosure Dustin posted on September 11, 2026 is a good example: 6' tall black chainlink in asphalt, with the posts set into the pavement. On September 1 he posted a 6' galvanized chainlink job for an old gym turned new business, with a man gate, a double drive gate and a 28' slide gate. Another commercial gate, set between shipping containers, carries brown privacy slats and razor wire.
The work is checked by the people who hired it. Proper Builders LLC left a Facebook recommendation for a job of approximately 400 feet of 6-foot chain-link: "The crew was professional, worked efficiently". It is a Facebook recommendation, not a star rating, and it comes from a builder who needed 400 feet of fence put up right.
Chapter 03
Re-facing, tune-ups and keeping it presentable
Commercial fence is not always a new build. One October 2026 post describes a customer who wanted "a new, cleaner look" on an enclosed storage area, and the answer was privacy slats on the enclosure. The fence stayed where it was, and the storage behind it stopped being on show.
A fence "tune up" is the other common call. Dustin's list from a recent one: "Stretched barbed wire, replaced chainlink, replaced top rail, eliminated chainlink, added a termination post, added access." Barbed wire that has slackened, fabric that has been hit or rusted through and a top rail that has bent are the usual starting points. A termination post and a new access point change how the whole run works without rebuilding it.
If your fence around the yard, the dumpster or the lot has started to look tired, call Dustin at (509) 594-9013. He bids around Yakima and the Yakima Valley, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, and he will walk the line with you before he writes a number.
"MF Fencing did an excellent job for Proper Builders installing approximately 400 feet of 6-foot chain-link fencing." Proper Builders LLC, Facebook recommendation.
